It can be so easy to dismiss fashion at glamourous and glitzy events but the stars on parade at the 82nd Venice Film Festival often shine so much more brightly than at other major celebrations.

Some of fashion’s most eye-catching looks in recent years first captured the world’s attention on the lido and this year appears set to follow that trendsetting tradition.

Cannes has now famously banned nudity and “voluminous outfits that hinder the proper flow of traffic and guests” forcing designers to take a fresh approach to setting the latest trends and headline-grabbing gowns.

From outlandish outfits, sumptuous gowns to well-tailored suits; the fashion of show so far has not failed to disappoint. But, don’t take our word for it. Seeing is believing.
