Will Taylor Swift headline the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show?

“Maybe,” says NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

Speaking on the Today Show, Goodell was asked if the pop superstar would be headlining next year’s Super Bowl performance. He responded: “We would always love to have Taylor play. She is a special, special talent and obviously, she would be welcome at any time.”

When further asked if Swift’s presence at next year’s halftime show was “in the works”, he said: “I can’t tell you anything about that.”

More pressing led to the reply: “It’s a maybe.”

Swift has been a top contender for a Super Bowl halftime show performance, and eagle-eyed Swifties are convinced that she is set to headline next year. They picked up on various Easter eggs in her recent album announcement on the New Heights podcast.

Performers for the coveted halftime show slot are typically announced between September and October the previous year. For instance, Kendrick Lamar was announced in September 2024.

Swift recently got engaged to her partner and NFL star Travis Kelce. The announcement sent the internet into a frenzy, had Donald Trump giving uncharacteristic praise, got many focusing on the ring and had us wondering what the most iconic rings in pop culture were.

Details of when the couple are expecting to get married have yet to be made public.

That happy announcement came hot off the heels of Swift announcing the release of her new album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl‘, which hits shelves on 3 October. The album is widely expected to be inspired by her experience of her record-breaking Eras Tour and by her romance with Kelce.

Many brands and major companies jumped on the Swift marketing bandwagon following the announcement of the album, and more businesses have done the same after news of the engagement. Click here to find out why
