Paul Gallagher, the older brother of Oasis stars Liam and Noel, has been charged by Scotland Yard with rape, sexual assault and a string of other offences.
The 59-year-old is set to appear in court next month.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police shared the following statement: “Paul Gallagher, of Manor Park Road, East Finchley, has been charged with rape, coercive and controlling behaviour, three counts of sexual assault, three counts of intentional strangulation, two counts of making a threat to kill and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.”
It continued: “The offences are reported to have taken place between 2022-2024. The charges follow an investigation which commenced in 2024. A woman is being supported by specially trained officers.”
The charges come as Liam and Noel are on tour with Oasis for their Live ‘25 reunion tour – marking their first shows together since the band’s acrimonious split in 2009.
Paul, who is seven years older than Liam and one year older than Noel, grew up with his brothers in Burnage, Manchester, and has never been involved in Oasis. He has previously worked as a DJ and a photographer, and released a book in 1997 entitled “Brothers: From Childhood to Oasis”, in which he described growing up with Liam and Noel.
Paul Gallagher is due to appear at Westminster magistrates court on Wednesday 27 August.
