US rapper Lil Nas X has been detained following a clash with police after being found on the streets of Los Angeles in only his underwear.

Officers were called after receiving reports of a naked man wandering on the normally very busy Ventura Boulevard shortly before 6 a.m local time on Thursday.

Authorities say Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, was charged with suspicion of a misdemeanor after charging at the responders.

Video obtained by TMZ appeared to show him on the street wearing only underwear and boots

Los Angeles police spokesman Officer Charles Miller confirmed the Grammy award winning singer was taken to hospital with a suspected drug overdose hours before being taken into custody but there’s been no details released about his condition.
