GoVolta starts Paris train service, launches bond offering

Breda-based public transport company GoVolta is planning to launch a €19 ticket to travel from Amsterdam to Paris, owner Hessel Winkelman told local newspaper BNDeStem on Friday.

Eurostar, which often offers bargain tickets from €35 upwards, takes 3 hours 20 minutes to travel between the two capitals.

The service, which will take over seven hours, will travel to the French capital via  The Hague, Rotterdam, Roosendaal, and Ghent and Antwerp, rather than Brussels.

GoVolta has provided rail services between Amsterdam and Berlin since March, with some tickets costing as little as €10. That service has proved so popular that it will be increased to six times a week from June, Winkelman told the newspaper.

At the same time, the company, which was launched in 2025, has started a crowdfunding campaign to raise €1.5 million in bonds in order to “facilitate further growth”. The bond is open from €1,000 in tranches of €500, promising 10% interest a year.
