Three men have been arrested over the theft of a shipment of smartphones with an estimated street value of around €5m from the Schiphol area, the Royal Military Police (Koninklijke Marechaussee) have said.
The suspects are two 24-year-old men from Amsterdam and a 39-year-old from Zoetermeer.
The shipment went missing on June 18, prompting an investigation, led by the Noord-Holland public prosecution department, into an organised crime group.
One of the suspects works for a transport company at Schiphol and is thought to have passed confidential information to the group, the military police said. Further arrests have not been ruled out.
