Jumbo is once again recalling several types of cheese because they may be contaminated with listeria. The recall applies to Jumbo Lepelkaasje and Jumbo Kaasplateau Verrassend, regardless of their expiration date.

Last week, the supermarket chain recalled gorgonzola and brie from its store brand due to the possibility of listeria contamination.

The bacteria is often found in products that have been cooled for a lengthy period of time and are then eaten without heat. Listeria infections are relatively rare in the Netherlands.

The Netherlands Nutrition Center has warned that the effects of a contamination can be severe. Especially pregnant women, young children, and people with a weakened immune system are at heightened risk. Pregnant women could even have a miscarriage due to the bacteria.

On Tuesday, the Dutch Food and Consumers Authority recalled the Salame Tradizionale by Galvani. “Strange objects” can be found in the product with the expiration date of October 23, 2026.
