French investment bank Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB) is opening an office in Amsterdam. The subsidiary of the major French bank Crédit Agricole sees significant opportunities in the Dutch market, driven by developments in energy, infrastructure, and technology.

With the new office, Crédit Agricole CIB is expanding its presence in the Benelux region. The Asmterdam office will focus on serving Dutch clients as well as international companies with operations in the Netherlands. According to the banking group, the Netherlands is home to companies pursuing some of Europe’s most ambitious investment programs.

Physical presence, the bank says, will strengthen client relationships and allow local expertise to be deployed more effectively. Use of the Dutch language will also foster deeper business relationships, according to a statement. The bank’s representative in the Netherlands is Erik Brommer.

According to its website, Crédit Agricole CIB operates in more than 35 countries worldwide and employs 10,776 people. The French investment bank describes itself as the world’s ninth-largest. Its services include advising clients on initial public offerings, mergers, and acquisitions, and financing, including the issuance of bonds for sustainable projects.
