Celebrity business woman Kim Kardashian’s second-hand clothing website Kardashian Kloset has football fans wondering why she is selling a jersey from a long-defunct Dutch amateur football club.
The shirt, displayed among the designer labels, is at least 19 years old and is labelled “Voetbalvereniging RKSVM”, which stands for Rooms-Katholieke Sport Vereniging Machutus, an amateur club founded in Monster, in Zuid-Holland, in 1947.
The club went through several incarnations and has been Sportclub Monster since 2007. The sponsor of the club at the time of the shirt – VSB Bank – no longer exists either.
The shirt, described as a “youth size XL in good condition” apart from some slight wear.” “No fabric tags, feels like polyester,” the listing states.
Karsashian’s 10-year-old son Saint West may have worn the shirt without knowing anything of its history, the AD speculates. Or, the paper says, a stylist for the family may have picked it up at a vintage store inspired perhaps by the mention of “Westland”.
Bidding for the shirt from the Netherlands is not possible, but the shirt may “come home” after all, the paper said. A player at the club said he knows someone who is in the United States on a gap year who could order it and bring it home.
The collector’s item is being offered for $20 or €17.45.
