19-year-old woman killed in multi-vehicle crash in Zeeland crash; 3 injured
A 19-year-old woman from Aagtekerke was killed and three others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Zeeland on Saturday evening.
The collision occurred around 8:30 p.m. on the N59 between Zierikzee and Nieuwerkerk, where three cars collided. The victim died at the scene. Three other people were injured and taken to different hospitals, authorities said.
The cause of the crash remains unclear. The N59 between Nieuwerkerk and Zierikzee remains closed during the investigation.
Traffic is being diverted, but police reported that some drivers are ignoring the roadblocks. “That is NOT the intention; people must simply follow the detour,” police said.
