Five people have been injured after a cloud of gas ignited during a pancake event at a secondary school in Oosterhout in Brabant.
The incident took place in a professional kitchen at a practical education school on Nassaustraat. One person was seriously injured and taken to hospital, while four others suffered burns and were treated at the scene.
Both students and adults were among the injured.
Initial reports suggested an explosion involving a gas cylinder and seven casualties, but authorities later said the incident was likely caused by a gas leak that ignited. Police are investigating.
