23-year-old man shot in West Amsterdam; Suspect flees on foot toward A10
A 23-year-old man was shot on Friday afternoon following a dispute on the Admiraal de Ruijterweg near the Haarlemmerweg in West Amsterdam, police said. The suspect fled on foot toward the A10 motorway and has not been found.
According to AT5, police received a report of the shooting at about 3 p.m. on April 24. Officers responded to a parking area where two men were involved in a confrontation. During the argument, shots were fired, and the 23-year-old man was hit.
After being struck, the victim was assisted by others who placed him in a car and drove him away from the scene. Later, police found the same vehicle at a hospital, where they discovered the injured man inside. He had a gunshot wound but remained conscious and able to speak.
The suspect ran from the area immediately after the shooting, heading in the direction of the A10 motorway. Police searched the nearby surroundings but did not locate him.
