365,000 Dutch travelers bought NS summer discount pass before the Friday deadline
About 365,000 travelers are using the temporary NS discount pass this summer. NS said it is satisfied with the results of the promotion.
The Dutch cabinet allocated 118 million euros to fund the discount promotion. Friday was the last day the subscription could be purchased.
The Nederland Dal Vrij subscription lets travelers ride unlimited during off-peak hours and on weekends this summer for 49 euros a month.
The subscription has been available since mid-June.
Additionally, Angelique Magielse, financial director at NS, told NU.nl that a portion of the subscription holders had never previously held a train subscription.
