The Netherlands avoided a first defeat under head coach Xavi Hernandez on Thursday night, coming back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Greece in the Nations League.
Substitute Tijjani Reijnders scored the equaliser from close range in the 89th minute in Thessaloniki.
Greece, who had already won away against Serbia and Germany, made it 2-0 on the stroke of half-time.
Xavi brought on Noa Lang, Ryan Gravenberch and Reijnders at the break for Van Bommel, Guus Til and Quinten Timber.
Captain Virgil van Dijk headed in a goal from the corner at 59 minutes in.
Denzel Dumfries twice had the ball in the net, but both goals were ruled out for offside.
Reijnders then scored the equaliser in the 89th minute. The Netherlands has now conceded in 11 consecutive matches, their longest run since a 16-game streak between 1956 and 1958.
“The way it went in the first half was unacceptable,” Van Dijk told broadcaster NOS. “We were outplayed before the break and that simply can’t happen. We showed a lot of good things in the second half, but that has to be there from the start.”
Oranje opened the campaign with a 1-1 draw against Germany in Amsterdam before beating Serbia in Belgrade. The draw leaves them on 5 points from 3 games, 2 behind Greece.
