Sunshine & temps up to 26°C tomorrow; Showers expected from Saturday afternoon
The Netherlands is in for two days of sunshine and temperatures up to a summery 25 degrees Celsius, with some places in the southeast even climbing to 26 or 27 tomorrow, according to Weeronline. May kicks off with a summery start, but the weather will turn rainier from Saturday and cooler from Sunday.
Today will be sunny with a moderate easterly wind, which may be strong along the coast. Afternoon temperatures will range between 20 and 22 degrees Celsius, with only the Wadden Islands not quite hitting the warm-day mark of 20 degrees.
Tomorrow, May will kick off with a summer’s day. Weeronline expects clear skies and quickly increasing temperatures, though with a moderate southeasterly wind. Thermometers will top 20 in the entire country. The Wadden Islands can expect maximums of around 21 to 23 degrees. In the rest of the country, maximums will climb to between 24 and 26 degrees, with some places in the southeast maybe climbing a degree or two higher.
Saturday will be another sunny and warm day, with showers developing as the day continues. “And these showers may be accompanied by thunderstorms in the east and southeast.” Maximums will rise to 18 to 20 degrees along the west coast, and to 21 to 25 degrees inland, with the highest values in the east and southeast.
The forecast for Sunday looks less appealing for sun lovers. Cloud cover will predominate with showers in many places and possible thunderstorms. Temperatures will range between 18 and 22 degrees, from the coast to inland.
For the month of May, Weeronline expects maximums of around 15 to 20 degrees for the first two weeks, and then higher temperatures than the typical maximums of around 18 in the second half of the month. “Warm days of 20 degrees or higher are likely. This is certainly the case inland.” The month will definitely not be a wet one, but occasional showers will occur.
